Glen Arven Round One Underway

Published on September 24, 2016

The Southeastern Junior Golf Tour is playing in Thomasville, Georgia this weekend at the Glen Arven Country Club. Glen Arven is one of the oldest golf courses in America and was recently remodeled to a championship caliber golf course. Players showed their ability today as low numbers were posted at day's end.

In the Female 12-19 division, we find Emma Bell of Braselton, Georgia leading all ladies. Emma fires a very impressive one under par, 71 in round one. Trailing closely behind Bell is Megan Schofill from Monticello, FL who fires a one over par 73. Coming in third is Kaysie Harrelson of Tifton, GA who fires a 3 over par 75.

The Male 12-13 division is a close one as we have a leader and four others tied for second. Our leader in round one is Patrick McCann of Tallahassee, FL who fires a one under 71. McCann had it rolling today as he is one of the lowest in the tournament. Sitting tied for second with a 3 over par 75 is Aiden Ash (Tallahassee, FL), Brantley Baker (Leesburg, GA), Parker Bell and Jake Springer, both hailing from Tallahassee.

In the Male 14-15 division we find Matthew Giesler of Marietta, GA fire a one under par 71. Giesler finds himself with a two shot lead over James Spivey of Macon, GA who shoots a 73. Two players sit tied for third as they both card a two over par 74. Will Chambless of Culloden, GA and Bailey Means of Atlanta, GA look to go low in round two tomorrow.

In the Male 16-19 division we find one of the toughest in the field. Three players sit tied for first at two under par 70. Connor Futrell (Tallahassee, FL), Brendan Winters (Spanish Fort, AL), and Jonathan Bekkers (Santa Rosa Beach, FL) all look to take the lead of their own in round two.
